What else could I debut with!?

Here's my humble, unassuming rendering of an amazing song. This was probably done to satiate my inner self...

I apologize and request the readers of this blog to bear with me, for the following reasons :

1. The imperfections and distortions in the instrumental
2. The drawbacks of recording with a mike which comes with a 75 Rs Headphone, balanced on two pillows!
3. The several musical shortcomings of the piece

Remember to hike the volume of ur ear/head phones (aaaaaaiiiiii!! Please don't listen to it on speakers or something!!! :eek2), cos of point number two mentioned above...

And don't forget to listen to the original once u are done with my halla gulla :)

P.S : Wikiupload...Interestin, reliable(?!) and FREE service :)

Money matters

Ashwin maga, tum bhi kya yaad rakhoge! :D

Found out about a very practical and useful concept today... Although the University of Michigan chose to name it Consumer 'Sentiment' Index, which aroused my curiosity, Wiki provided a better explanation for it all :)

After reading Wiki intently and devoutly, and emitting the customary 'oho' which accompanies most of my wikiperiences ( :D ), I turned to Google to temme about something of the same in the Indian Context...

And what does he throw at me?! A two-three month old link!! And I thought bravo bravo my fellow amigos and Indians! :)

Then I went to bed....zzzzzzzzzzzzz

Coming back to life

So 4 close shaves in one day (8km stretch actually) is not good what?

Took some luck based and skill based maneuvering to keep me on my bike...
And after the second one, I think, my heart said "Okke! Since you intend on scarin me shitless today, I am gonna stay in your mouth for a little longer"

So quite an exciting ride to Cunning road today....My prayers today morning kept me alive I thinks!

God bless Bangalore Traffic!

Yeah! you don't get to hear THIS one a lot right??

But I'll tell you why...

As I approached Lal Bagh XXXX (i never get 'em right!), and God decided to say "Okai, open the sprinklers now...No no we'll go with max force this time", and I said to myself "only coupla kms to go to my house now...will I get drenched enough??", the Bangalore traffic rose to the occasion and splendidly blocked my path delaying me gettin to my house!! And I couldn't help but thank all those crazy, hurried, indisciplined brothers and sisters...And one song ran thru my mind :

Yeah, here comes the water
It comes to wash away the sins of you and I
This time you see
Like holy water.....

- Slither by Velvet Revolver

Water has always been a fascinating thing to me...My mom tells me that I used to revel in my bath tub (yeah had one back when i was a tot too!! :D ) splashin around, takin my time...And as I grew up, my fascination grew with water in its magnificence and grandeur and its healing properties(believe me I'm not kidding here!)...

And tonight was something I'd been waitin for... Those ppl in the rain gettin all cautious, those extraordinarily long traffic signals makin you feel as though u were standin under a steady waterfall, that coooold wind coupled with the rain which makes you shudder and take a slight gasp! , those cute couples holding each others hands and running as though all hell has broken loose with just a book or something over their heads, that look on mom and dad's face as I arrive home drippin' all over, that hot coffee to return your body to normal temp within 20 seconds...

ahh! izzaaaaaaaaaaalllguuuuud!! :D

What were they thinking!?

A. When they wrote the following :

Just washing it aside
all of the helplessness inside
pretending I don't feel this place
Its so much simpler than change...

These words make you despise them sometimes and wonder abt, at others

Aa. When they thought of the fact that a pair of protagonists, one of each sex, running around trees professing their love in extremely exaggerated, imaginative, poetic phrases could actually mean entertainment and make money...and they were right...AND they upgraded it by throwing in some more hapless, colourful humans cos they thought 'oh the hero and heroine must be feeling lonely and embarrassed'.... (don't even get me started about their dancing)

E. When they thought of extremely irrational, unrelated and embarrassing ads like "bingo chips", "har kutte ka naam tommy nahi hota..." etc etc (we seriously lack flexibility in laws relating to use of guillotines...)

Ee. When they thought two computers should be allowed to exchange "dayta" (most americans, notably one boda genius Vint Cerf say it that way) ..... Voila! Internet!

U. When they came up with the notes and chords and the structure of the song 'Nothing Else Matters'...I've recently become obsessed about this song...Quite intricate the way they improvise on this song in concerts...Or is it just me...

Oo. When they made movies like SAW, wrote books like FountainHead and obtained patents on ideas like 'bar code reader to charge your prepaid account'!!!!!

The answers to these 'What were they thinking!?'s shall remain obscure...The capacity of the human mind...immeasurable probably...

If I could have my wasted days back
Would I use them to get back on track?

Stop to warm at karmas burning
Or look ahead but keep on turning

Do I have the strength to know how I'll go?
Can I find it inside to deal with what I shouldn't know?!

could have my wasted days back
Would I use them to get back on track?

You live it or lie it (2)

The TOI

Some gifted people have been given the opportunity by TOI to express their views on topics of controversy in the Sunday times... I salute TOI for this very purpose... I think that the articles appearing in page 6, titled "All that matters", are of very high caliber both in terms of the content and the semantics... A very firm grip on the language can only taunt the reader and excite him as he is continually perplexed by the point of view being unraveled in front of him...

Notable amongst these writers are Swaminathan (Swaminomics!!) and Shashi Tharoor... Those of you who've read the latest of his offerings, will agree with me when i laud his sense of humour and his wisdom...

Mental Note : Must resume reading his book...

Aaina mujhse meri, pehli si soorat maange
Mere apne, mere hone ki nishaani maange

Knowledge

is power, sez my friend

Today very early in the morning, i learnt what happens to a person suffering from a rather severe case of frontal temporal lobe problems...

It was visually demonstrated, with particular attention to detail, that :

1. The patient must be given only a general anaesthetic..Its very important in such cases for the patient to be attentive

2. The patient's head must be to a side and the patient must be very still.

3. All you have to do to relieve that person of severe headaches, is to cut open his head, remove a square piece of skull using a drill and a powersaw...

4. After this rather simple procedure, you ask the person to lift his/her hand and flex the fingers...

Voila!

The question you have to ask yourself is this: are you willing to take a bullet for the man who killed your son? Does "do unto others as you would have them do unto you" apply here, Jeff? Make your choice.

My affiliation with weird movies continues with trainspotting....

Extremes?

Can you imagine what it feels like to have someone sit you down and tell you that you're dying? The gravity of that, hmm? Then the clock's ticking for you. In a split second your awe is cracked open. You look at things differently - smell things differently. You savor everything be it a glass of water or a walk in the park.

But most people have the luxury of not knowing when that clock's going to go off. And the irony of it is that that keeps them from really living their life. It keeps them drinking that glass of water but never really tasting it.

Those who don't appreciate life do not deserve life.

A psychopath(?)'s words.....
